Who stole my coat?
Have you seen my coat?
I used to wear it, I could swear it,
It rendered me invisible and unseen,
You didn’t see me wearing it,
You thought it quite obscene,
It clung to me like swathes of wool,
It held me in and kept me out,
I’ve shed the coat and now you see me,
It’s like I’m different but I’m just the same,
But perhaps the coat did hide the wearer,
The things it felt not able to show,
But now it’s time to let it go,
So if you see it say goodbye,
The wearer has a new lullaby.
